"Hijab is more important to us than school,"

At Kausia School in Mandya district of Karnataka, the school administration has refused to allow the hijab to be worn, putting the education of Muslim girls at risk. When a girl wearing a hijab was not allowed inside a school in Kausia, Mandya district, her father told teachers, "Hijab is more important to us than school," and took his daughter out of school.

The video has been shared on Twitter. In the video, you can see the teacher there asking the father to allow his child to attend classes. At the same time you can see the author mentioning "no problem".

Hijab is more important to us than school:
"Hijab is more important to us than school," says Sadiq Pasha as he takes his daughter home from Kausia School in Mandya. I have trouble sending my child because the school staff repeatedly tried and failed to convince him. He left saying he would not allow my child to go to classes without a hijab.
