Authorities in Uttar Pradesh have begun demolishing the house of Javed Mohammad, leader of the Welfare Party of India and father of activist Afrin Fatima.
BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had spoken insultingly about the Prophet on private television a few days ago .
Protests erupted on Friday in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh condemning the situation.
Violence erupted during the protest, with police arresting more than 60 children for inciting violence.
During the protest, stones were thrown and vehicles were set on fire. Police used batons.
Authorities have issued a notice to demolish the house of one of the protesters, Javed Mohammad.
Student activist Abreen Fatima has complained to the National Commission for Women (NCW) that her parents and sister have been unjustly abducted and detained by the police.
Javed Mohammad, leader of the Indian Welfare Party and leader of the anti-CAA protests, was arrested by police at his residence last Friday.
Authorities have since begun demolishing his home, claiming it was built illegally. The video footage and the hashtag #StandWithAfreenFatima are currently trending on Twitter
