Ranil Wickramasinghe became the President with the support of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna...Sagara Kariyawasam

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna General Secretary and Member of Parliament Sagara Kariyawasam said in a press conference held today (12) at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Party headquarters in Bhattaramulla that Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and United National Party will not compromise their policies and if possible they can unite for the country.

Kariyawasam said that with the help of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, United National Party leader Ranil Wickramasinghe became the president and because of that some relations have developed between the two parties.

Kariyawasam also mentioned that Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is ready to form an alliance with any party to carry out continuous policies for the future of the country and the future of the youth.

As the United National Party is one of the oldest political parties in the country, joining with such a party will be a strength for the party, Kariyawasam said, adding that he is ready to move forward with any party that can move forward for the future of the country and the youth.

The Secretary said that if the policies of a party do not change according to the needs of the country and the people, that political party will not exist and mentioned that the oldest left political parties of Sri Lanka have to face it.

Sagara Kariyawasam further said that Sri Lanka Budujana Peramuna is not in a position to change its policies and the United National Party is not in the same position and both parties have responsibility for the good of the country.
