A Buddhist thera of South Lanka has criticised the aim of politicians to create inter-ethnic problems in Sri Lanka, disrupt unity and come to power.

Talpota Tammajyoti Therar said that today we can see in political parties those who were responsible for creating ethnic and religious differences and contradictions in Sri Lanka.

Therar mentioned this while participating in an event in Colombo and commenting.

He continued, "Today, I see in some political parties those who have created a few differences, contradictions and problems in our country, both ethnically and religiously.

Their sole aim was to create problems between the races, break unity and come to power. That is what is happening today. These things are happening very much today.
