The incident in which 40 innocent people protesting against the military rule in Myanmar were beaten, tortured and buried by the military has come as a shock.
Video footage, photos and eyewitness accounts of last July's tragic incident have now been leaked.
The army has shown its demanding face by infiltrating several villages in the city of Ghani, considered a stronghold of anti-military elements in central Myanmar.
Some of the women who snatched their relatives before their eyes in this frenzy of the army said this in tears: -
Many soldiers between the ages of 17 and 18 entered the villages and arrested 40 men. They were then taken to a different location and their hands and feet were tied and tortured. We could not keep looking at this, so we nodded and cried. We begged them not to do that. They do not care.
They told us, "Are your husbands among them? If they are, do your funeral." Then they dug pits and buried the bodies of the slain in it. Thus they said.
The incident did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It is noteworthy that the news that the army had burnt 11 villagers alive 2 weeks ago caused a stir.
