Rehan Jayawickrama, commenting at a press conference at the United People's Power headquarters in Colombo yesterday, said there were many similarities between Adolf Hitler and the Sri Lankan ruler. He further commented,
"He can tell the farmers to grab their necks and use organic fertilizer," said The Head of State Gotabhaya Rajapakse in a recent speech, this is not really a matter of grabbing the farmers by the neck. On the contrary, it is a strangler idea of our country's democracy.
To be sure, what is currently happening in our country was similar to what happened when Hitler ruled Germany.
Hitler also took power with the votes of the people, claiming to strengthen democracy.
But within a few months of gaining power, he became the most serious dictator and even set parliament on fire.
Today, the Sri Lankan rulers and Hitler have significant similarities.
Hitler also engaged in spreading Racism among the people of his country. Similarly, it is carried out in our country by the present rulers.
It must be understood that racism is worse than terrorism.
Terrorism can be controlled through security forces, including the military.
But the racism that is sown will always endure.
We therefore urge 69 lakh people not to be fooled by the lies told by the present government.
Everyone should come together with us against the misbehaviour of the government.
Otherwise this country will not be left for us to live in the future."he said
