The number of people applying for passports daily for foreign employment has risen to 2,500, according to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Its media spokesman Gayan Milinda said the number of people applying for passports daily had increased since the lifting of travel restrictions.
The majority of youth in the country are looking for jobs in abroad.
