David Beasley, head of the UN World Food Program, says humanity is declining in Afghanistan. Regarding this he said: -
People in Afghanistan are in a position to sell their children and their bodies for a living.
More than half of the population in Afghanistan is starving. So the international community must come forward to help them.
Afghanistan has been plagued by drought, economic devastation, corona epidemic and regime change for the past few years.
About 2.4 crore people in the country are suffering from food scarcity. This year 97 percent of the population has gone below the poverty line.
Afghanistan has been one of the poorest countries in the world for the past 20 years due to the fighting with the Taliban. Afghan people come forward to sell children.
Officials say parents are waiting to give babies to those who can feed the baby more than themselves.
The nations of the world need to speed up their assistance.
Thus said David Beasley.
