According to sources close to Ali Sabri, who campaigned with civil society group 'Viyatmaga' in the 2019 presidential election, was unexpectedly disappointed.
Ali Sabri, the lead in the Gotabhaya Rajapakse (Gitabara Sabara) front, is currently acting as the justice minister of the government in several major cases, including the acquisition of controversial MiG-27 fighter jets.
At this stage, Ali Sabri is expected to make his announcement after head of state Gotabhaya Rajapakse returns from Britain.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse interacted with the Justice Minister and advised the Justice Minister on the urgent resolution.
Ali Sabri, however, noted that Gnanasara Therar has been appointed as the head of the task force and has not been consulted as justice minister in this regard.
