He made the remarks while addressing a public meeting in Sainthamaruthu on the settlement program to rebuild the ruined homeland.
He further said,
“The two parties that ruled the country have ruined Sri Lanka. Thus people are not happy today.
No fertilizer for farmers. Fishermen have no fuel. Merchants have no products for sale.
The rulers and their friends are happy today. This needs to be modified. Therefore, all parties must unite with us to bring about change.
The rulers have formed racist groups and provided them with financial assistance to create tensions between Sinhalese and Muslims.
Their aim is to confuse the people of the country and bring their rule through it.
Today they are asking for loans from abroad. There is a shortage of all commodities in the market due to lack of money to import.
Due to the crisis in the country, parents are trying to send their children abroad. People have lost faith in the future of Sri Lanka. ”
