The people of Sri Lanka are living in a very bad environment.-United People's Power Concern

Opposition United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has said that the Sri Lankan government may try to raise commodity prices, citing the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

However, the party's parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka told a news conference in Colombo that it would not be acceptable for the government to try to get out of trouble, citing a brainwashing somewhere in the world.

He further said,

“The projects of this government have failed. Prosperity is invisible. The people of the country are living in pain today.

People are spending time standing in queues unable to fulfill their essential needs. Thus people get involved in struggles. Screaming in anger on the paths.

Given the Russia-Ukraine issue, it is unacceptable in world tradition for one country to rule over another. There may be political contradictions between them.

All these problems started when Ukraine made efforts to join NATO. Russia is busy ensuring their security. However it is not possible according to world tradition to occupy another country.

I do not think the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war will be felt in our country. It is featured on the reverse side of the world.

The reason for this is that this government can not push the people further by raising the prices of goods here.

If so, Putin should be held accountable for this country. So if this government tries to get rid of these problems, we will not accept it. ”
