Residences and vehicles of several SLPP MP’s destroyed

The residences and vehicles of several Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP’s were destroyed by protesters across the country this evening (09), after protesters at ‘Gota Go Gama’ in Galle Face were attacked earlier today.

The residence and party office of Kurunegala district MP and former Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando was set ablaze, while the residences of MP Nimal Lanza, Badulla district MP Tissa Kuttiarachchi, Minister of Education and Minister of Plantation Industries Ramesh Pathirana in Galle were also raided and set ablaze.

Meanwhile, Moratuwa Mayor Samanlal Fernando’s residence in Willorawatta, Moratuwa and MP Sanath Nishantha’s residence in Puttalam were also set on fire after they had reportedly led mobs of pro-government protesters to the protest at Galle Face.
