In the BJP-ruled state of Uttar Pradesh, it is being accused of demolishing the residences of those who express opinions against the government and hold demonstrations in the name of occupation. In this case, a mother and daughter who lost their home in the name of occupation in Kanpur, were set on fire in front of the authorities, which has caused a shock.
Officers who cleared the residence of Pramila Dixit's family allegedly beat and kicked them to move elsewhere. Pramila Dixit, helpless, set herself on fire with her 20-year-old daughter Neha in front of the police, police said.
But the relatives alleged that the police set fire to their hut while they were inside the house. And after this incident, the villagers attacked the policemen in the area by pelting stones. This created tension between the public and the police.
A case of murder has been registered against 13 people including government officials in this incident. And an investigation is being conducted in this regard. The incident of the mother and daughter, who were distressed due to the demolition of the house in the name of occupation, died in the fire has caused a shock.
