The leader of the party and Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K.Stalin, today (12-03-2025) attended the protest public meeting titled “Tamil Nadu Fights! Tamil Nadu Wins!” held in Thiruvallur against the Union BJP government. Below are the details of his speech:
“If this army falls, which army will win?” - This is the question we ask the rulers of the Union Government. The Tamil people have gathered here for our race, for our beloved Tamil language, and for the rights of Tamil Nadu. Even if we fall, let Tamil live! With this battle cry, the Dravidian movement is ready for any sacrifice. No matter who threatens our race, land, or language, we, the brave warriors of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), will stand against them.
Tamil Nadu’s Growth Under DMK
Think about it. In just three years, how far has our state progressed? Compare it to how it was before. Tamil Nadu’s growth was hindered for ten years under the previous rulers, who bent their backs and mortgaged our state’s rights at Delhi’s feet. Unable to tolerate this disgrace, self-respecting Tamils decided that only under a DMK government could the state and its people live with dignity. That’s why, in the 2021 Assembly elections, the people gave us a massive victory and established our Dravidian model government!
You, the people, placed your trust in us, and we have upheld it every day, implementing programs that have made the entire country take notice. Initiatives like the Kalaignar Women’s Rights Scheme, Vidiyal Payanam Scheme, Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, Pudhumai Penn Scheme, Tamil Puthalvan Scheme, Illam Thedi Kalvi, Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam, Naan Mudhalvan, Inniuyir Kaapom Nammai Kaakkum 48, Idhayam Kaapom, Paatham Paadhukaapom, Chief Minister’s Pharmacy, Thozhi Hostel, Kalaignar Dream Home, and many others are benefiting students, youth, women, farmers, workers, entrepreneurs, and senior citizens across all sections of society.
BJP’s Discrimination Against Tamil Nadu
Even the Union Government’s reports acknowledge Tamil Nadu as a leading state. Other state governments are adopting our schemes. Tamil Nadu is back on the path of development. But what is the attitude of the Union BJP government? Instead of supporting a well-performing state, they are enraged that Tamil Nadu is progressing. They are envious of our achievements. They see DMK as a barrier to their agenda and are doing everything to obstruct and trouble us. They want to humiliate us.
Can we remain silent while our rights are being stripped away and Tamil Nadu is being insulted? We are not a party that bows to Delhi just to stay in power! DMK is a party with self-respect and Tamil identity! The BJP government has forced DMK into a fight against its authoritarianism!
Today, all across Tamil Nadu, we are holding protest meetings against the BJP government with the slogan “Tamil Nadu Fights! Tamil Nadu Wins!” Whether we are in power or in opposition, whether in the Legislative Assembly, Parliament, or public forums, we will always be the voice of the people. We will argue, we will fight, and we will establish our rights. This grand public meeting is a commitment to that promise!
Modi’s False Promises
When Narendra Modi was announced as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, he said, “Planning for India should not be done from Delhi alone, but with the involvement of regional leaders.” I ask, Honorable Prime Minister Modi, have you followed this in the past ten years? No! Instead, your government’s approach has been dictatorial. You spoke about cooperative federalism but have done nothing to strengthen state governments.
Modi also said, “I will not take revenge on opposition-ruled states.” But BJP has done nothing but target opposition-ruled states. Even now, the Union Government has withheld ₹2,151 crore meant for Tamil Nadu’s teachers and students, as a form of political vengeance!
National Education Policy – A Threat to Tamil Nadu’s Future
The National Education Policy (NEP) is not an education policy but a Hindutva policy! It is not designed to develop India but to impose BJP’s ideological agenda. That is why we oppose it!
• The NEP does not recognize social justice or reservations.
• It denies financial aid to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.
• It introduces national-level entrance exams even for arts and science colleges.
• It aims to push students out of the education system by implementing exit options from Class 10 onwards.
• It enforces caste-based vocational education from Class 6.
We strongly reject NEP! Even if the Union Government offers ₹10,000 crore, we will not accept it!
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan insulted Tamilians by calling us uncivilized. Tamil Nadu, the land that gave the world the philosophy of “Yaadum Oore, Yaavarum Kelir” (The whole world is our home, all are our kin), does not need lessons on democracy or civilization from BJP leaders! The same BJP leaders insulted Tamilians in Odisha during elections by falsely linking us to the Jagannath Temple treasury case. BJP’s pattern of demeaning Tamil Nadu is clear.
Delimitation – A Conspiracy Against South India
The BJP is conspiring to reduce the number of parliamentary seats in South India. Tamil Nadu, which currently has 39 Lok Sabha constituencies, is at risk of losing 8 seats, reducing our voice in Parliament. This is a grave injustice! This is not just about numbers; it is about our rights!
To counter this, we have organized an all-party meeting in Tamil Nadu and reached out to affected states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, West Bengal, and Punjab. On March 22, a joint meeting of multiple state parties will be held in Chennai.
BJP’s Economic and Foreign Policy Failures
• India’s GDP growth rate for the last quarter was projected at 6.8% but ended up at just 6.2%.
• The Indian rupee’s value has fallen from ₹58.47 per USD in 2014 to ₹87.99 in 2025.
• Even small nations like Sri Lanka are arresting Indian fishermen despite Modi’s false promises.
• For two years, violence has raged in Manipur, killing 250 people, yet the BJP government has done nothing.
Tamil Nadu Will Never Bow to BJP
Even if we have to sacrifice our lives, we will never bow to BJP’s fascist actions! We will unite all of India against their authoritarianism!
• BJP’s caste-based politics denies social justice.
• BJP’s authoritarianism crushes state autonomy.
• BJP’s communal agenda threatens India’s secular fabric.
• BJP’s dictatorial approach undermines federalism.
If we do not resist now, we may never be able to resist in the future!
We will unite India under the principles of social justice, secularism, federalism, and state autonomy. Only through such unity can we save India. That is why the struggle “Tamil Nadu Fights! Tamil Nadu Wins!” will become a national movement!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, my request to you: Stop imposing Sanskrit and start fostering India’s real growth.
No matter how much BJP tries to suppress us, Tamil Nadu will fight, Tamil Nadu will fight till the end, and in the end—Tamil Nadu will win!
